Direct Care Training & Resource Center, Inc. was honored to participate as an exhibitor at the Fall 2026 Michigan Guardianship Association event in Traverse City. It was an energizing opportunity to meet guardians, care professionals, educators, and organizations committed to improving the lives of the people they serve.

We were especially pleased to have our CEO, Bruce W. McCollum, present to guardians on an idea we believe deserves far more attention: guardians can expand their reach by becoming educators and trusted information brokers.

Guardians accumulate tremendous practical knowledge through their work with courts, healthcare providers, Adult Protective Services, residential programs, families, and community organizations. That knowledge can become the foundation for newsletters, educational presentations, training for new guardians and conservators, court-focused educational resources, and other professional services.

These activities may also create new revenue opportunities through educational programming, newsletter subscriptions, advertising, consulting, and related services.

For us, the event was more than a conference. It was a chance to exchange ideas, build relationships, and encourage guardians to recognize that their experience has value far beyond an individual case.
